Narayani Shastri is an Indian actress, who is popular on television and theatre. She has done many popular daily series and is still remembered for her role of Kesar in one of the longest running series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Currently, she is seen in a negative role in Life OK's show Piya Rangrezz.

Biography

Narayani Shastri was born on 16 April 1978 in Pune, Maharashtra. She has completed her education at Symbiosis College in Pune and later moved to Government Law College in Mumbai.

Career

Narayani Shastri started her acting career with the serial Kahani Saat Pheron Ki which aired on DD1 followed by many serials like Piya Ka Ghar, Mamta and many more. She is mainly recognised for the role of Tulsi's (Smriti Irani) sister Kesar in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi aired on Star Plus. She played the negative character Tashu, as Abhay's wife in Sony's Kkusum.

Narayani Shastri is seen in a negative role of Bhanvri Devi in Life OK's showPiya Rangrezz. She is seen playing Bhanvari Devi, who is considered the godmother of the region. About the role she said, "In real life, I am completely contrasting in nature to that of my character. On a second thought, I don't think that any person living can be cruel as Bhanvri devi. And there are instances, when I completely hate my character, but then such is the essence of the role."

Interview

How did you prepare yourself to play such a powerful and a character which you have never played before?
I didn't actually prepare for it, when I read the script, it automatically comes in mind that how I have to enact it. I am not an adhered actor I am spontaneous, so when I read a script it automatically happens. As an actor we all keep on growing by taking inspiration from other talented actors from our industry. In fact I would say the industry is an inspiration, but particularly no one.

Boyfriend/Marriage

If reports are to believed, Narayani was earlier dating television actor Gaurav Chopra but the couple had broken off. Later the actress started dating a british guy named Tony, who has been living in India for five years and running an ad agency. But it seems that her relationship with beau Tony, was not meant to be. Currently, she is single and not in hurry to get married. She said, "I've never thought of marriage. I've never felt the need to. My family doesn't put any pressure on me for it."
