Mika Singh is an Indian singer, song-writer composer and performer. Amongst a wide catalogue of songs, the prominent ones are "sare pind taan main ni darda,sare dunia mere ispe"ae ganpat chal daru la"" "Bas Ek King" (Singh Is Kinng), "Mauja Hi Mauja" (Jab We Met), "Ibn-e-Batuta" (Ishqiya), "Dhanno" (Houseful), "Dhinka Chika" (Ready), "Desi Beat" (Body Guard), "Subah Hone Na De" (Desi Boys), "Pungi" (Agent Vinod), "Ganpat" (Shootout at Lokhandwala), Gabru (album), "chinta ta ta chita chita" (Rowdy Rathore), "Main tere agal bagal hun" (Phata Poster Nikla Hero) and Sawan Mein Lag Haye Aag (album), to name a few. He is also known for the "Jaatan (Jat) ka chora" song, which is based on the Jat clan (Punjab and Haryana) Rani tu mi Raja Son of Sardaar. His debut song for Lollywood "Khul Jaye Botal" in 2015 went viral in Pakistan.

Early life[edit]

Amrik Singh, known by his stage name Mika Singh was born to Ajmer Singh Chandan and Balbir Kaur and was brought up in Supaul, Bihar in Sikh family[3] along with his brother Daler Singh (stage name Daler Mehndi). He is the youngest of six brothers.

Concerts and tours[edit]

In 2014 Mika performed live and sold out in Naz Choudhury's Bollywood Showstoppers at The O2 Arena with Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Shahid Kapoor, Ali Zafar and supported by Bollywood dance group Bolly Flex, that appeared Sky1's dance competition show, Got to Dance.,[4] Mika Singh[5] has done few biggest of his concerts in an association with Ventom Motion Corp[6] In New Delhi

Mika Singh has always been the bad boy of Bollywood for his forever controversial nature.

Forcefully kissed Rakhi Sawant Item Girl[edit]

In 2006, Mika landed himself in trouble after kissing Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant at his 29th birthday party . The incident saw Mika forcibly kiss Rakhi Sawant on her lips during his birthday bash. Rakhi was clearly not amused and filed a case of molestation against the singer. While Mika said that Rakhi had kissed him first, prompting him to reply in kind, she said that he misbehaved with her.[7]

Hit-and-run case[edit]

According to media reports, in 2014, the singer was charged for knocking down an auto rickshaw causing serious injuries to the passenger. However, the singer denied and later clarified that he was not driving the vehicle.[8]

Legal battle with Sonu Nigam[edit]

Singer Sonu Nigam filed and later won a defamation case against him for using his images without his consent. The dispute was regarding the publicity of the Mirchi Music awards. The defendants had put up billboards and hoardings containing Sonu Nigam's image advertising the awards ceremony, without Sonu's consent. These hoardings were different from the official hoardings put up by Mirchi Music Awards itself. The official hoardings had also contained pictures of Sonu, but Mirchi Music Awards had obtained Sonu's permission.
Sonu therefore filed a suit in the Bombay High Court for unauthorised infringement of his personality rights. The plaintiffs also pleaded that the posters, having shown Mika to be 'larger in stature' than Sonu and other singers, were defamatory to Sonu Nigam.[9]

Slapped a doctor at a concert[edit]

In April 2015 a concert was organised by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS) as part of their three-day conference. During his performance, some of the audience was stage for an activity and during the activity something that the doctor did supposedly annoyed Mika who pulled him ahead and slapped him, as per the video of the incident posted online. The victim, Shrikant, an ophthalmologist posted at Ambedkar Hospital, had suffered some internal injury inside his left ear due to the assault. The Delhi Police had earlier registered a case of causing hurt and wrongful restraint against him, but he was given bail hours after his arrest.[10]
