She has gained popularity for the role of 'Shyamlee' in "Hare Kkaanch Ki Choodiyaan". Snigdha was last seen in Zee TV's Bandhan. Now, she will play the role of Lord Ram's mother Kaushalya in Siya Ke Ram.

Snigdha Akolkar was born on May 3, 1985 in Pune. She started her career with modelling. After doing modeling assighnments she entered into acting. She came into limelight for her item number in the movie Anjathey, with Narain and Vijayalakshmi.
